In 2008, a gift of $2500.00 was given to the Chorale to provide an annual scholarship of $500.00 to support music education among Colorado’s youth. Since that time additional donations have been given to support the fund. This award is presented each year at the summer concert. Nominations from the Chorale membership are received by the Chorale Board and a recipient is chosen. To be considered, the youth must be under 25 years of age, be enrolled in an accredited college or university and actively engaged in completing a music degree.
The Alpine Chorale planned giving program is called Legacy Giving. Many people are looking for ways to insure that their shared values are preserved for future generations as a part of their estate planning. Legacy Giving provides a mechanism to provide for the continuance of excellence in vocal music performance by giving a gift to the Alpine Chorale. The gift may be in the form of a memorial for a loved one. It may be in the name of a family or family foundation. Legacy gifts provide future support for the Alpine Chorale through contributions via will, trust, endowment and other forms of written designation. Any individual, at any point in their life, can create a legacy gift.
It can be as easy as naming the Alpine Chorale in a will for a specific gift or as the beneficiary for a savings, checking or pension account. This could be accomplished through a more complex instrument like a charitable trust. Designating a percentage of these instruments is a popular practice. There are no limits in the gift amount. All gifts of any size are significant and appreciated by the Chorale.
